Getting your hands on current-gen hardware without breaking the bank is always a priority, especially with major releases on the horizon. PlayStation has introduced a brand new promotional offer cutting $40 off when buyers purchase a certified refurbished PS5 console and a recertified DualSense wireless controller together in a single transaction.
The bundle pricing starts at $518 for the Digital Edition, while the disc-drive model comes in at $568. The automatic checkout discount effectively reduces the total package cost by $155 compared to standard retail pricing when factoring in the existing $100 price drop on refurbished consoles against new MSRPs ($599 to $649).
Purchasing the hardware as a combined set lowers the cost of the additional controller significantly. A standard recertified DualSense controller usually costs $59, but under this bundle offer, it effectively drops to just $19. Buyers can also select alternative colorways like Sterling Silver or Volcanic Red for $64 instead of $59.
Having a second pad ready to go is ideal for local multiplayer sessions or couch co-op titles without needing to purchase an extra controller down the line. The discount applies automatically at checkout without requiring any coupon codes, though the promotion is only available for a limited time until November 5, 2026.
With massive titles approaching—including Grand Theft Auto 6 scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026—securing a console early remains a priority for many players. Given that new hardware production costs remain high and the PS5 Pro occupies a different market tier, refurbished bundles present a practical route for players transitioning to current-gen systems ahead of the autumn gaming rush.
Shoppers weighing whether to hold out for potential Black Friday console promotions should note that significant standalone hardware price cuts remain unlikely due to manufacturing costs. Grabbing a verified bundle ahead of time ensures players are fully equipped before the holiday release schedule kicks into high gear.
