Marvel Comics is gearing up for a massive crossover event with Hulk War Infernal Rage, establishing it as one of the publisher’s tentpole storylines for 2027. Serving as the dramatic climax to writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson’s ongoing Hulk saga, the event centers on a demonic entity known as The Eldest possessing the Hulk. With an army of corrupted heroes at his command, the monstrous powerhouse sets his sights on waging total war against the Marvel Universe.
While the main crossover event is scheduled to officially kick off in February, Marvel is releasing a critical prelude issue this December to lay the groundwork for the conflict. IGN recently showcased an exclusive preview of The Infernal Hulk vs. The Avengers #1, which marks the final special in the build-up to the upcoming war.
Not a Nintendo Videogame, but an upcoming Marvel comic book one-shot part of the “March to Hulk War” event.
The Infernal Hulk vs. The Avengers #1 is penned by Phillip Kennedy Johnson, featuring interior artwork by Carlos Magno and a striking cover by Nic Klein. Marvel’s official summary for the issue sets a high-stakes tone for the finale of the prelude:
WHO SURVIVES THE FINAL BATTLE BEFORE THE WAR? INFERNAL HULK has gathered his armies, his fortress and now his champions. All the pieces are on the board, and all of our greatest heroes have been corrupted except the last of THE AVENGERS. Can they succeed where all others have failed? The MARCH TO HULK WAR ends here!
Fans looking to dive into the prelude can pick up The Infernal Hulk vs. The Avengers #1 when it hits comic shop shelves on December 2. Following the release of this crucial lead-in issue, the conflict officially expands with the launch of Hulk War: Infernal Rage #1 in February. Enthusiasts can now secure preorders for both releases at their local comic book retailers.
